This painting was studied from a few photographs taken in front of the famous traditionally designed bookstore in Matsumoto, Japan. It's eclectic in the juxtaposition between the modern buildings. I don't believe there are any other traditional buildings on that street. I took several more photographs of people passing by, cars blurring as they sped by. The only stationary person, aside from the buildings in the small boy in front of the bookstore, reading a book. My son was my inspiration. The world speeds by, but when you're reading a good book, time stills.
